Dr. (Ms) Manju Nanda | Chief Scientist
With over 26 years of service for CSIR delivering significant impact in the field of safety critical systems for aerospace applications. Some of significant contributions include:
1. Design- Development and certification of the indigenously developed Stall Warning System for SARAS PT1N
2. Independent Verification and Validation of SARAS Automatic flight control system (AFCS) application software and Engine indication and crew alerting system (EICAS) as per RTCA DO-178B Level A criticality.
3. Developed the state-of-the-art Integrated Formal Method Framework to aid Design-Development of a safety critical software using model-based, formal method-based, and conventional techniques for the Software Development Lifecycle Process (SDLC). The framework ensures that the SDLC techniques selected will deliver a highly reliable software.
4. Established the Model-Based SDLC process as per RTCA DO-178C, and DO-331. Implementing the indigenous IAFCC software for SARAS MK-II.

Speaker will share the experience of “Transition from Document-Centric SDLC to Model-Centric SDLC for Flight Software”, learnings of this paradigm shift, challenges and advantages with the projects carried out and being carried out at NAL.
Jawahar Bhalla | Principal | JB Engineering Systems and iPhD Candidate, University of Adelaide & Shoal Group.
JB is a passionate Systems professional with over 30 years’ experience across multi-national organisations in technical and strategic leadership roles. He contributes to the advancement of Systems Thinking, Systems Engineering and Modelling & Simulation locally and globally as foundational enablers to understanding complexity for a better, safer world.
He is the Technical Director of INCOSEs’ Australian Chapter, SESA, a past member of the SimAust Board and a founding member and past Chair of the SimAust Professional Development Committee.
He has a BE in Aerospace Engineering and a BSc in Computer Science from UNSW, a Masters’ in Systems Engineering from UNSW@ADFA and is a current iPhD candidate on an Australian Government Research Training Program scholarship, with industry partner Shoal Group, at the University of Adelaide, Australia focused on a framework for the Systems Engineering of AI-Intensive Systems.
He has 24 technical papers published and has delivered numerous presentations, tutorials, workshops and sessions on systems concepts, systems engineering and Modelling & Simulation

Saket Kulkarni
Saket is currently heading the Medical BU at Agiliad Technologies towards building product engineering services teams for global medical devices customers. A post-graduate from Biomedical Engineering Department of University of Akron, Ohio, USA and his research was in the area of biometrics and facial expression analysis using CNNs.
With 18 years' experience in medical devices’ R&D applied in areas of Imaging physics, System Engineering, Image Analysis Solutions, Imaging Framework Architecture for various domains like Radiology, Pathology, Interventional X-ray and Biometric Applications. Saket has been part of engineering teams with various modalities , Computed tomography, Interventional x-ray, PET/CT and Radiation Oncology, Digital Pathology:
Saket is very well versed in product development processes involved in the design and development of Medical Imaging Applications, Medical Devices and Product platforms. Additionally, he has worked with service-based companies as well as product-based-companies & has global work-experience having worked in different geographic locations (India, United States, Japan, United Kingdom, China & The Netherlands) for leading healthcare companies like GE Healthcare, Philips Healthcare, Toshiba Medical, Elekta Oncology and Bioimagene Inc (now Roche Diagnostics).
Rajesh Singh | Lead Systems Engineer, MBSE | Boeing India Engineering
Over 16 years’ experience across multi-national organisations in technical, pre-sales and leadership roles. He contributes to the development of the next generation digital engineering framework, supports the program, adopts a modelling approach while managing the system configuration and supports the test and integration plan. He has experience deploying DevOps with major defence houses, automotive suppliers, medical domains; adopting the safety analysis with the system architecture. Working to achieve the digital thread and the ultimate digital system model. He has a BE in Electronics and communication and a diploma from C-CDAC Bangalore. He has published white papers and has delivered numerous presentations, workshops and sessions on system concept and modelling and simulation.
Dr. Sukanta Bhatt
Dr. Sukanta Bhatt holds a Master's and Ph.D. (Maths/algo) from IIT Kharagpur. He has 30 years of experience spanning academics, MCAD and Healthcare software products, and Medical device design and development. At Philips, Dr. Bhatt was the part design of seven medical device NPDs. He played various roles like Dept Manager - System Engineering, System Design, UX Design, Image Chain, Approbation, System V&V, and Clinical Analysis. Last three years, he has been building capability in Systems Thinking, has a certification from MIT, and has conducted multiple workshops for hundreds of engineers in Philips India.

Sudarsan Rachuri PhD | Technology Manager Advanced Manufacturing Office | Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) Department of Energy
A Technology Manager in the Advanced Manufacturing Office, EERE, and DOE. He is the Federal Program Manager for the CESMII. Before joining DOE, he was the program manager at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and also a research professor at George Washington University and worked in the CAD/CAE/PLM software industry.
Dr. Rachuri is the Editor-in-Chief of ASTM Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing Systems journal. Rachuri is the founding member and was the vice-chair of the ASTM subcommittee on sustainable manufacturing (E60.13) and a member of the ASTM Smart Manufacturing Advisory Committee. Rachuri is the founding member and the Chair of the standards committee on ASME V&V 50 Verification and Validation of Computational Modeling for Advanced Manufacturing. Dr. Rachuri was a member of many ISO and ASME standards committees.
Dr. Rachuri is a Fellow of ASME and AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science). Dr. Rachuri received the 2016 ASTM International President’s Leadership Award. Dr. Rachuri won first prize in the 2017 World Standards Day (WSD) Paper Competition, awarded by The Society for Standards Professionals. Dr. Sudarsan Rachuri was recently honored with the Excellence in Research Award by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Computers and Information in Engineering (CIE) Division.

Niranjan comes with 25+ years of rich experience in Research & Development, Technical services, Innovation, New product development and Systems Engineering. Niranjan is also a Leadership Trainer & Coach.
Niranjan is currently responsible for Transformation of Leaders and Engineers in Product development and Systems Engineering.
He played a key role as Chief expert in Bosch in development of ECUs for India, China, CV & OHW market. During this tenure, Niranjan lead multiple teams in Systems, Embedded SW & HW which is key for Systems Engineering.
Prior to Bosch, Niranjan worked in Tata Motors’ Engineering Research Centre and contributed substantially in products like Safari DICOR, CV & Defence vehicle systems. Here in TML, Niranjan applied systems Engineering in development to Fully Electronic Control Common Rail Engine system and thereby successfully developed Powertrain systems.
Ravi Rajamani, PhD, FSAE, FIMechE
Ravi Rajamani is an independent consultant working on applying model-based and data analytical techniques to aerospace systems, including modern ones involving electric propulsion and autonomy. He has published six books, and is the author of many book chapters, journal papers, conference proceedings, and patents. Prior to his current job, Ravi worked at Meggitt, UTC and GE. He has a PhD from University of Minnesota, an MBA from University of Connecticut, an MSc from IISc, Bangalore, and a BTech from IIT, Delhi. He is active within various SAE technical committees and serves as the chair of the IVHM steering group. He currently serves as the Editor in Chief of the SAE International Journal of Aerospace and is part of the editorial board of two other journals. He has a visiting research position at the University of Connecticut and has been elected a fellow of SAE and of IMechE.
